starbucks business model revisited
Image by rudolf_schuba via Flickrthere was one article i read not long ago, regarding famous starbucks coffee businesses in US. it described the diversition of starbucks core business model of being selling coffee only. instead starbucks business mode had been diversified unconciously to provide WiFi access to customers mainly and buying coffee seems had became secondary.
that is not the point, what i am trying to emphasis is if starbucks business appeared to be diverted into such model, i am thinking of the following business model:
- open a wifi store - decorated with warm and homely feel, put in tables for at least 15-17" laptop in size, tag with each power point with it. probably using comfortable cushion chair but not sofa. music wise would be slow jazz or classical with no vocal and medium low volume. lights would be not that dimmed but it should had able to cover each table.
- buy wifi get free coffee - give out package pricing like free coffee for every visit of RM10. people tend to customize their drinks of their like with either standard no additional charge or customized with charge.
